Whether working his jazz quartet, composing new works for classical ensembles, or leading one of his Latin groups such as Seven Steps To Havana or Charanga Tropical, Doug Little presents music that connects and moves the listener. A recepient of numerous fellowships and awards, Little has been an important force on the Twin Cities jazz scene since 1991. Besides his activities in the Minneapolis area, he has also conducted music research in Havana, Cuba for five months and performed extensively throughout Europe. Since 1996 he has served as director of the summer music education program, The Twin Cities Jazz Workshop.
