Brazilian "Carnaval" (car-nah-VOW), the biggest celebration in the world, is coming to Minneapolis, MN once again! Led by Robert Everest’s authentic band Beira Mar Brasil, a ten-piece band with blaring horns and heart-pounding percussion, this event has become one of the most exciting Brazilian events the Midwest has to offer!

There will be Brazilian drinks available, and bartenders will be trained in making Brazil’s most popular drink, the famous “Caipirinha” (kie-peer-EEN-yah, to help you order!)

You WILL dance and warm up at this event, so dress appropriately – in costume, of course! This is NOT Bossa Nova!

Special guests include:

Dandara – An exuberant and dynamic singer from Bahia, Brazil. Aside from her international festival touring, she’s an 8-year veteran with the event, and we’re excited to have her back!

Edilson Lima & Vanessa Luiz – Professional Samba dancers from São Paulo, Brazil. Back for their fifth year, they’re bringing even more energy – and more elaborate costumes, too!

Goretti – A skilled Brazilian artisan.After spending many years making beautiful masks for the Brazilian Carnaval, she's ready to share her authentic art with the Twin Cities Carnaval!

Batucada Do Norte – One of the best Brazilian percussion ensembles that the Twin Cities has to offer!

Omulu Capoeira Guanabara – A high-flying Capoeira (Afro-Brazilian Martial Arts) act. They perform at the start of the event, so arrive early!

Arthur Almquist – A nationally-recognized face/body painter. Back for his third year, he’s ready to decorate you just like the colorful characters in Rio De Janeiro’s Samba Parade!
